A Brief History

Growing up in a single parent family during the Eighties was easy enough for anyone under the age of ten. A huge amount of gratitude has to be given to my Grandparents for helping out by raising my sister and I for much of the time. I kept myself to myself mostly being a good little boy whenever someone was watching me and playing nicely when with others.

I progressed through the school years without too many problems, learning a lot of useful things I was told would be vital to my future. Secondary school told me much that I had been taught in Primary school had been not quite the whole truth, with may things working slightly differently than I first thought. Once again life progressed without major issues. During the later time at school I got involved in amateur dramatics, no I can't act, I much enjoyed the backstage antics. Lighting, sound, set construction and best of all pyrotechnics kept me happy for hours on end.

Staying in state education as long as I could, and to better my career prospects of course, I started to lean towards an engineering setup. I all too soon found out this required a nasty combination of subjects at A Level – Maths, Physics and Chemistry. The ever growing demands of my social life took its toll on my education. I managed to pass them all but I feel I could have done a fair bit better had I concentrated a little more at the crucial times.

Once again given the option of joining the real World and earning my living I quickly choose to enter university to study Civil Engineering. Wanting to be sure I enjoyed myself as I studied the University of Salford called to me and so began three years of student life in Manchester. Following drinking too much, partying too much and generally having far too much fun I left university with enough of a degree to get a job in the construction industry.
